Cary Street cuties

Hellu,

It’s been about a week since I last posted, but all is well! We were really busy with work & play, but I finally have some time off to catch up on blogging…

I had a Saturday off way back when, so after Justin came home, we decided to go out for dinner and visit some shops on our favorite local street. First stop was Zzaam for some yummy Korean (: his food doesn’t look too good, but HE sure does!

The main event was definitely The Tottering Teacup- it’s this beautiful hidden gem on Cary that sells loose leaf tea and tasty treats. I got to try macaroons for the first time and they were DELICIOUS! The ones they had available were vanilla and blackberry: vanilla creme middle + a blackberry in the center. They tasted like ice cream and they don’t have gluten cause they’re made of mostly almond. Bonus points! It was like heaven, but that wasn’t even the best part. We chose the almond oolong tea (with a lil milk) to match. They had all the teas arranged by type on a magnetic chalk board in little containers, so we got a heart sticker from the owner and put it on the wall by the tea we liked. I’m sure we’ll be going back again cause I need more…

Last place we went before heading out was our frequently-visited toy store World of Mirth. Found a lovely treasure for our mantle ^ and it’s a giraffe! They also had a funhouse mirror outside, so obviously silly selfies ensued. We bought a bunch Pokémon cards half off (score) and caught some Pokémon on the way to our car, then headed home.

The next day, Justin brought home some macaroons for us. These were lemon and green tea- equally scrumptious! Excited to go back and enjoy the cozy atmosphere of The Tottering Teacup again soon (:

  2. Ahh The Tottering Teacup looks like a fantastic place!! Macaroons are soooo good; the only place I’ve gotten to try them was at Trader Joe’s one time when they had little samples, haha – their texture and flavor is so interesting, but I love it!
