Hellu,
I’m going to review my accomplishments from last year and then let you guys know what my goals are for 2019 and also some lifestyle changes I’m making in order to better myself overall…
Our first pets together
In late January of 2018, Justin and I got our two White’s tree frogs. These are the first pets we’ve got together and we LOVE having them. It’s been hard for me to stop myself from turning this blog into solely a frog blog haha but I did make them their own Instagram: friednoodles_frogs their names are Fear & Misery, inspired by the old Joji song. This was definitely one of the most fun accomplishments of last year!
The dream job
In April of last year, I finally got the call I’d been waiting (and hoping) for since beginning work in pharmacy over 3 years ago. I had an interview with Costco! This place is like the best place to work because of their spectacular pay and benefits. I’d been applying for months and the interview went very well. I went through the background and drug tests, got my offer, and in May 2018 I was officially hired on as a Costco pharmacy technician. It’s been an amazing experience so far, and I’m looking forward to the years to come here…
I got a new car
In the summer of 2018, my old cruddy car stopped putting out any kind of air and I wasn’t going to put anymore money into a vehicle I hated. I kissed my money goodbye and got myself (for the first time) a car that wasn’t over 10 years old and only had one previous owner! That, to me, is a new car. It also only had about 20k miles on it. My 2015 Subaru Forester is my pride & joy and even though it pains me to pay the crazy insurance every 6 months- I love this car. I still despise driving, but this makes it a bit better knowing I’m in a reliable SAFE vehicle now! It was a huge accomplishment for me because I bought it all on my own and it’s under my name alone.
Designed/Got my first tattoo
For my birthday (October 3rd), I asked for one thing: a tattoo. I had been working on designing something for myself for a few months. It’s inspired by my favorite book which is Dreamhouse by Marzia Bisognin. I tried to make my house look somewhat like the illustration from the front cover, plus the cute sleepy cloud on top. I recruited one of my friends since elementary school to give it to me. This made it even more special and he did a fantastic job! It was painless and easy to take care of in the weeks afterward. I can’t wait to get more added, but I’m still working on sketches of what exactly I want…
Overall accomplishments
Things I wanted to work on throughout the year of 2018 were reading more, posting here on a schedule, doing yoga every single day, and using my drawing prompt journal more. I accomplished all of them! I read a full book (rare) and got halfway through a second one. I posted a blog every Tuesday & Friday which I’m going to continue this year. I did some form of yoga/stretching 365 days in a row. I also drew in my journal at least twice a week, so there’s 52+ doodles inside…
+ I read every post in my Reader each day (so I never fell behind), and I managed to save a total of $3000 in 2018
Don’t neglect the nightly skincare
One of my biggest resolutions this year is to do my skincare routine EVERY night. I know this may sound like a small goal and it really is compared to my other ones, but I’m trying to take better care of myself overall and part of that is my skin health. I want to make sure I don’t sleep with any makeup on this year. Each night, I’m going to use micellar water to remove any makeup (if I’m wearing any) and leftover dirt/oils, then toner, my Full Of Grace bar serum from Lush, and lastly my Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream. Anything else I’ll use specifically if I need extra help- like an overnight peel on random breakouts, etc.
GET MY BOYS BACK
The truly biggest goal of this year is getting a house. We’ve been working toward this for almost 2 years now while we’ve been living in the apartment together, but once Justin does taxes for his businesses this spring- we’ll really be able to start the process of buying our very first home together. I’m so excited and beyond ready to move out and onto bigger & better living conditions. I’m trying to save all my extra money so we can have as much of a down payment as possible! I’ll finally be able to bring my cats from my dad’s to live with us. I’ve missed them so much and can’t wait to have them home (:
Lifestyle changes
I’ve made specific diet restrictions for myself this year. Not to lose any weight, but simply to have a healthier body. I’m going to be keeping track of these with a monthly/weekly planner. I’m also going to workout every day and write down which exercises I do. This journal will also be a place for me to write down my work schedule and blogging schedule. I’m going to be jogging down 3 “big” goals each month in the margin. Another thing I want to try is reading before bed more to help myself get to sleep easier/quicker. I’m not sure whether that will work for me, but I’ll give it a shot at least twice a week…
+ I’m starting a new type of birth control that will hopefully not give me the horrible side effects I got with the pills I’d been on for years. Cheers to feeling better in 2019!
Do you make resolutions? Are you making any big changes for 2019? Let me know in the comments! Thanks for reading (:
Aw, it looks like you had such an amazing year! These are are major achievements! Congratulations!
And good luck in 2019!
As for me, I’m super excited for this year, because I’ll finally get a driving license! haha I’ve always wanted to drive a car. (By the way, why do you despise driving?)
Great post, I really enjoyed reading it! 😀

Thank you for this wonderful comment! I say “despise” cause driving is probably the only thing that gives me major anxiety. I consider myself a good driver, but everyone else on the road scares the crap outta me haha but I do wish you the best of luck with getting your license. I hope you enjoy driving more than me (: really appreciate your kind words of encouragement always

I loved reading this recap! 🙌🏼💕 You had some beautiful things happen in 2018 ☺️ and your goals for 2019 are epic!
A few things I did in 2018 are go through with my first major surgery 👌🏼, try out a few churches that I loved (hadn’t done that in years, haha!), meet my youngest sibling ❤️, and I think most importantly, learn more about myself. 2018 was a ROUGH year for me emotionally, but I have come out so much stronger on the other side. 🤗💜
Here’s to a beautiful 2019!

Omg that journal is so cute! A skin regimen is definitely a good goal to have. I started doing my skincare routine a few years ago, and I’ve been doing it every night since. I don’t really use micellar water though. I prefer to use face wash and actual water to rinse because I don’t feel like my face is clean just from using the micellar water. Although, sometimes I do use it to remove some makeup before actually washing my face.

Thank you! Yeah, I have a few face washes I use during the week, but I like my micellar water for nightly use (: I wish us both luck with keeping up with our skin this year

GIRL! This is the sweetest comment, omg 🤗 thank you so much for reading and leaving such kind words. I’m glad you’re able to reach your weekly goals so far and I know you’ll do awesome with the rest of the year. I’m hoping to incorporate my monthly goals into either my monthly favorites post (the last post of each month) or maybe as a new series for the first post of each month- like January’s goals will be published at the beginning of February and so on. It’s exciting to try new blogging stuff too 😋 thanks again for your fantastic support!
